Attorney at Law
Brian Turner is a founding partner of Turner|Modarelli. He is privileged to represent plaintiffs in a wide variety of personal injury cases including wrongful death, premises liability, insurance company bad faith, governmental tort liability, and automobile and trucking accidents. He also represents small businesses in contract disputes, unfair business practices, fraud, and various other small business litigation matters. Brian practices in both state and federal court and has represented individuals in hundreds of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy filings.
Brian graduated cum laude from Chapman University, Dale E. Fowler School of Law. He focused on Bankruptcy Law, receiving high marks throughout his training. He held a prestigious clerkship with the Honorable Catherine Bauer in Riverside where he was exposed to a Judge’s perspective of the court system. As a board member of the school’s moot court team, he attended the National Bankruptcy Conference in New York to argue pending Supreme Court bankruptcy issues in front of panels of the leading members of the legal profession.
Bankruptcy was not Brian’s only focus while at Chapman. He was the recipient of three Cali awards that recognized the best student in class. He was the managing editor of The Nexus Journal of Law and Policy, which focused on trending legal issues, including Citizens United and Food Law. Brian and Anthony together founded the Chapman Trial Attorney’s Group, the first plaintiff-based student group at Chapman Law, which is still active today.
Brian gained his first taste of the law from his grandfather, a prominent attorney based in Palo Alto, California. Beginning at the age of 15, Brian worked for his father’s law firm, performing various tasks around the office. It was through these experiences that Brian realized his passion for the law. In addition to law, Brian also had a passion for the service industry. At 16, he worked as a manager of a bowling alley in Montrose, California that serviced the movie industry and hosted private parties. While attending the University of California, Santa Cruz in the early 2000s, Brian spent time waiting tables and managing one of the largest restaurants in the area. His passion for law, combined with his desire to meet new people, inspired his decision to open a law firm that focuses on providing impeccable, compassionate service while fighting relentlessly for his clients.
Prior to Turner | Modarelli, Brian worked at Fraley & Fraley where he managed the filings of several hundred bankruptcy cases. With Brian’s guidance, these clients were able to eliminate millions of dollars of debt. Brian feels deep satisfaction when providing services that pave the way for his clients to fully recover financially and gain the fresh start provided by the law. He is a listener who focuses on understanding his client’s goals and ensures the best possible result. As owner/partner of Turner | Modarelli, Brian is dedicated to putting the interests of his clients first.
Brian is a native Californian and a third generation attorney. He spends his free time camping, playing softball, and rooting for the San Francisco 49ers, the San Francisco Giants, and the UCLA Bruins. Brian currently resides with his wife, Meredith, an advocate for public higher education, and their retriever, Chewbacca, in Sacramento.
